Developed by Genetic Anomalies and later purchased by Darkened Sky Studios. Darken Sky Studios is a 2 man team, they are trying to develop a new version for the game, they've been working on it for 4 years. Players come and go, the community for this game is a little weak. This is an old online Collectible Card Game, with the same beat up interface its had since 1996. The card market has been disabled, and purchasing cards is no longer possible. When will they release ChronX 2? Who knows.
That said, it's a fun unique card game (if you're into those). There is no cost for registering an account, and you get some free cards. Every Sunday there is a small event held and free boosters are given to all participants. They are always giving free cards to players. If you would like to give it a shot go here:

I play this game, almost every sunday I show up to their 7pm est tourney. Get my free booster, 3 when I win it. Play with people after, design some decks, get some ideas. Same name I use everywhere apelogic
